The Mt Kosciuszko Summit Hike

The 13km return hike is a rewarding 4-5 hour walk along a well-maintained track, suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness, including children aged 10 and up. After taking the scenic Kosciuszko Express chairlift, you'll walk above the tree line through a unique alpine landscape, arriving at the very rooftop of Australia for unforgettable 360-degree views.

DAY 1: Sydney to Canberra's Icons

  • Morning (8:00 AM): Pick up from your Sydney hotel.
  • Stop in the historic city of Goulburn for a taste of country life.
  • Afternoon: Arrive in Canberra and visit your choice of iconic attractions, such as the Australian War Memorial or Parliament House.
  • Take in the magnificent panoramic view of the city from the summit of Mt Ainslie.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive past the many international embassies before drop-off at your Canberra hotel.

DAY 2: The Rooftop of Australia

  • Morning (7:00 AM): Depart Canberra for a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Jindabyne.
  • After a coffee break by the beautiful Lake Jindabyne, we'll drive to Thredbo.
  • Take the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift high above the valley. (Scenic Pass approx. $59 per adult).
  • Embark on the stunning 13km, 4-5 hour guided hike to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko.
  • Late Afternoon: After the hike, we'll return to Jindabyne for a well-earned rest and an overnight stay.

DAY 3: Space, Wildlife, and Return to Sydney

  • Morning (8:30 AM): Pick up from your hotel.
  • Journey to the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex for a fascinating look into space exploration.
  • Visit Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve to see kangaroos, koalas, and emus in their natural habitat.
  • Afternoon: Choose from more of Canberra's attractions, like the National Museum or the National Arboretum.
  • Begin the 3-hour drive back to Sydney, arriving at your hotel around 7:00 PM.
